Where has the time gone....
Wow the holidays have taking over my time... Well here is the newest project I did. I made a gingerbread house (castle) using my new cricut cake. Isn't it cute?
I used Once upon a Princess for the Castle. Paperdoll dressup for the Princess, Knight, and horse. I used Pagoda for the dragon.

On the 12th Day....
So this is a scene I have made for the Simply Betty Halloween Challenge. This is a young witch that is truly mad at her perfect (or so everyone always tells her) sister! She feels that she can not compare to her sister in anyones eyes and she is tired of it!!
She took her sister's picture and has smashed it numerous times. The glass shatters but it starts healing on its own as you can see in the picture frame (Tim Holtz die on acrylic). She has even ripped the picture to shreds and it healed itself also.
In this picture this is actually a piece of paper from her journal that blew up extremely big for no apparent reason.... Again maybe her perfect sister wanted her to not write about her. So this is how she reminds her sister not to do so!!!
As you can see, the expression her face is a simple smile. This is the very reason why she thinks her perfect sister has hexed her. She can only show a smile on her face at all times. When she is sad, really mad, and wanting to cry all she can do is give this smile. How does this work when she goes to a funeral.... She actually caused a scene once and ended up with a black eye. As her sister just smirked from around the corner!!
Not Simply Betty, EVIL BETTY!!!!!

On the 11th day
So here is my creation for the ever loved by me Simply Betty Challenge....
It's not my best work but I like the effects of it. I hate working as a night-shift nurse sometimes. It so gets in the way of my crafting time... How Rude!! Hehehe!
To tell ya what I have done now... I used Martha Stewart's halloween paper, cut in half, folded at 3inches and then 9inches so the card would open outwards. Then I took the other half of the 12in paper and cut it at 3in and 9in. I did this so I could adhere it to the inside of the card. Making it look all uniform.
Next I cut out little bats with my cricut cartridge Happy Hauntings. Adhered some with pop-up dots and some I made little springs from black wire and adhered. I hope that you can see the dimension (I'm really not the best photographer when it comes to doing photos of my work). Added the cool letters from Martha Stewart also. Then stamped the halloween and using embossing powder heat embossed it. Added the little vampire dude and that's all she wrote...
Thanks for looking!!!

Fabulous Dah-ling!
So here is a cute easel card I made for the 12 days of Halloween over at Betty's. I used the new die cut from Tim Holtz to make the spider. I added some stickles and some flock to him and little strips of cardstock for his legs...
I then hand stiched, yes hand stiched all of those spider webs. Attached it to orange bazzill cardstock with pop dots.
Next I added the purple bazzill cardstock to the bottom. Added a flower and gem. I printed out Spinderella and colored with copics. Then I wrote out the wording on white cardstock. Had the happy halloween stickers from recollections.

Love Potion #9
So this a treat holder underneath a candle.
I used DCWV paper for the background. Took Modge podge and glazed the whole thing. Then I used a label I didn't like and covered the back with glimmer mist. I then stamped with embossing ink the cute little chemistry items from There she goes stamps. Colored them with copics and used more embossing ink and used ranger clear embossing powder to make them look glassy.
Made the butterfly from tin foil and alcohol inks. Placed some flowers I had.
Used tissue paper and glimmer misted that. Placed flowers and purple wire in place. Took some vellum heart paper and placed that. Then I placed a large candle at the very top so it looks like the whole thing glows. (the picture does not do it justice).
Hope you like...

Scary Movie
So I know I missed the time frame by 9 minutes on the post but I made it so I am going to post it. My darn watch was 15 minutes different. I knew I should of checked the computer time. Oh well!
I used paper from Creative Imaginations as the background. I took the picture (which is awesome) from the website http://www.fanpop.com/spots/horror-movies/images/11226239/title/thirteen-ghosts-wallpaper .
I placed that on the Coredinations Cardstock. Cut out all the letters from the cricut using the Happy Hauntings and the October 31st cartridges.
I used stickles to color in the letters with black and burgandy. I used recollections ribbon over the picture. Placed the EEEK from Jolees. Then the transparency bling thing. I don't know who makes that.
I used liquid enamel to make the 13 ghosts stand out.
Again this is for the Betty Challenge that I missed by minutes. :(

My favorite halloween costume
Yes that is really me way back in the day!!! Wasn't I a little brat!?!
Anyways I used Creative Inspirations patterned paper for the background and the cherry paper. Then I took the DCWV rockstar matstack and cut out the guitar, used Tim Holtz distress inks to change the color. I used copics to color in the Theresa Collins stamp, which I added glittery stars from MM. I took the Holiday Headstart download and cut down the Happy Halloween to just halloween. Didn't like the green so I used enamel accents to color it in.
Used a whole bunch of stickles, paper ribbon, and whole bunch of thickers.

Butterfly Tag
So here is a tag a recently made. I was playing around with different stuff that I haven't used in a while.
I took Tim Holtz's ink and inked the outer parts and blended inward. I haven't used embossing ink and powder in a while. So I used my bright red with gold flakes embossing powder and made the big flowers. I believe the stamp is from Making Memories but I am not sure.
Next I took tin foil and used alcohol inks to color it. Then I used my cuttlebug to to cut out the butterfly and emboss it.
I added the little roses and the fancy red fibers to finish off my project.
I hope everyone likes.

A new little something
So this is an adorable stamp from unity stamps.
I took an acrylic tag and used alcohol inks from ranger ink for the background. I then stamped the image on the other side of the tag. Colored it in with a black sharpie marker. Then I used white cardstock and stamped a basic background stamp on that. Cut it to the same size of the tag. Distressed the edges.I used glue dots to adhere the two together. A little bit of ribbon and that's all she wrote.

Baby invitations
So I just went to a class last night called easel does it at my local scrapbook store. One of my favorite teachers taught it Amy, her blog is listed on my favorite blogs ( scrappin in style, http://scrappinstyle.blogspot.com/). Sorry I wish I was better with html. Anyways she has the cards we made on her blog, so you can take a look and see what we made. BTW they are gorgeous.
When I got home and the "world went to sleep," I started scrapping away. I made 20 big and 25 little pink baby girl invitation cards. They are not totally complete. I need to put the baby info on them whenever that happens. The little pink cards I didn't take a picture of because they look the same on the outside. They are just 3 inches by 4 inches. I don't have the inside done either!
And the great thing about this is I only used 15 sheets of cardstock. The big card measures in at 4.5 inches by 6 inches. So I used the left over 3 inches to make the small card. I also looked through all my scrap paper to use on the face of the little cards. So I saved even more money and used my stash.
I am going to do boy cards sooner or later... Stay tuned!

Machine Love
So I worked on this cute little card last night.
I used the cuttlebug to make the background. Then I used the new Tim Holtz die to create the machine gears. I didn't use paper I used transparency. I used gold, coppeer, silver, and watermelon alcohol ink to color the gears.
On the background I shaded the design to give it more diminsion with Tim Holtz soot black distressing ink pads.
I took black cardstock and placed different rub-ons to make the lettering. Cut to size of the words.
I used pop-up dots to create diminsion off the card on the gears and wording. I wanted the word love to stand out so I used a clear sticker with the word love on it. Then took white enamel accents to make the dots on the word love.
I hope you like and always thanks for looking!

Craving!!!
So lately I have been craving something out here on the west coast they don't have! GOBS! Nobody even knows what the hell I am talking about... The yummy chocolate and the soft white fluffy filling.... I miss them. So I found this recipe today from one of my very favorite ladies Paula Deen...
(Photo from Food Network's website)
Here is the site link: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/paula-deen/two-brothers-chocolate-gobs-recipe/index.html
She calls them Two Brothers' Chocolate Gobs
And here is the recipe:
Ingredients
Cake:
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
2 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup boiling water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup cocoa
Filling:
5 tablespoons flour
1 cup milk
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the sugar and shortening until fluffy. Add eggs and continue to beat. Stir together buttermilk, boiling water, vanilla, and blend this into the creamed mixture at low speed.
Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cocoa. Add to mixture 1 cup at a time, blending well at low speed. Batter will be very thin but do not worry. Drop by teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 5 minutes. Allow to cool and transfer onto waxed paper.
To make the filling, place flour into saucepan and slowly add milk, stirring until smooth. Set over medium heat and cook, stirring until very thick. Mixture should become as thick as solid vegetable shortening. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely. In a medium bowl, cream together sugar, butter, shortening, and vanilla using a handheld electric mixer. Add the cooled flour mixture and whip until fluffy. Spread onto bottom side of cookie and top with another cookie to make a sandwich. Wrap individually in plastic wrap and store in refrigerator.
Well there you go... Yummy!

I must be a super hero!
So just yesterday I had posted about how I sometimes feel like a super hero because I am an ICU nurse. I take care of patients that are on the brink of death and, in some cases, I pull them back.
Well yesterday I won a ticket to the local critcal care conference. I was actually not wanting to go because I am going to a huge conference in Washington DC in the middle of May. I need to work a ton to pay for the rest of my expenses. My boss told me I had to go and I wasn't allowed to work the night before. And she didn't get me a good enough reason. So, of course, I was extremely aggrevated! I wasn't even going to go, but then the other co-worker that won a free admission called me. "Can I get a ride with you for tomorrow?" Dang it now I have to go!
So that whole night before I slept a big whopping 2 hours (I am a night shift RN that keeps on night shift sleep patterns). I was exhausted by the time we got there. The first presenter almost put me to sleep. The second was very good and I was re-energized. Lunch break... They wanted us to come back early to do the award ceremony where they honor 2 people for excellent patient care.
The award ceremony started and I knew the lady that was talking. I couldn't remember how I knew her. Then she started to talk about how first hand she had a very serious event that took place just weeks ago. Then it dawned on me, she was one of my patient's mother.....
She started to tell her story of how her 30 something year old son was dying and that she as a respiratory therapist knew he was dying. She talked about how the day shift nurse (my co-worker that won the other admission) had worked so hard and so vigilent to try to save her son's life, keeping her updated, and consoling her when things looked beyond grim.
Then she started to talk about me. By this time I was already bawling, knowing what she was going to say even before she said it. How I fought for her son and called doctors and made one doctor very mad at me. How my diligence and extreme caring got the treatment that would soon save her son's life! She said that if I hadn't started continous renal replacement therapy (continous dialysis) her son would not be alive today.
He may still be in the hospital but he is soon to be discharged home...
I really do feel like a superhero. Some days I feel like I am taken for granted. But other days I get recognition that totally takes my breath away....
Now I just need a cape!!!!! Sorry I needed some kind of comedic relief. I am bawling right now, writing this down!
Here is the award I received.
